Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has increased strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
